Hawker Siddeley 748
AI Model for FS2002 & FS2004 ATC

Update #1

Credits:
Shoichiro Homma, for his original YS11 model for FS5 and Harry Follas for his conversion of Homma-san's model into the HS748. Thier work was used as the fondation for this FSDS2 model.
Freeflight Design Shop. Visit their website: www.freeflightdesign.com

This model was built with FSDS version 2.24, primarily for use as an AI model in FS2002 and FS2004's ATC traffic. It's simple, low polygon design, plus 2 lower resolution "LOD" models, make it ideal for AI traffic use.

A Little Info on the HS748:
Length: 67 feet
Wing Span: 98 feet, 6 inches
Weight: 46,500 lbs
Power: (2) Rolls Royce Dart Mk534 turbo-propeller engines @ 2280 shp each
The HS748 started out being the Avro-748, but had a slight name change after the creation of British Aerospace. First delivery occured in 1960 and the final production version rolled out in 1988. 380 aircraft were produced, 89 of those were built under licence in India.

General Notes:
Don't be a user! Be a contributor!
This is another one of my "community project" models.
This model is currently in development and I'll make more updates to it as I get reports from people who use it.
The textures are basic masters, 256 color (8-bit), 1024x1024 bitmap. Chrome reflections, and lightmap for night lighting are activated (except the hi-speed prop texture). User is welcome to repaint the model in any livery(s) desired. Uploads of repainted models are also welcome. No prior permission is required.
The included high-speed prop texture is an 8-bit transpanency. If you want to modify the high-speed prop texture, don't forget to add a transparent alpha channel when you're finished. If you don't know how to modify prop textures, don't! Leave it as it is. The lightmap texture (_L) included with this archive is a simple placeholder file. User must build their own lightmap files for end use.
Flight dynamics are based on the default King Air (with some modifications), so it will work well as an AI model (FS2002), but will not operate realistically as a HS748.
If anyone makes any improvements to the flight model which lets the AI model fly more realistically as a HS748, please send me a copy and I'll include it in a future update.

Update #1
I received 1 (and only 1) e-mail on this model. That person thanked me kindly for the model and then asked if it was possible to make some minor changes to the texture mapping. Well, your wish is my command!
The nose landing gear doors now have seperate left and right hand sides, so you can paint on numbers and letters if you wish.
Also, there is now seperate left and right hand sides to the engines, in case you want to make them different.

Installation
Unzip the archive directly into your flight simulator's Aircraft folder. It will automatically be setup as a regular, flyable model. To include the model in your ATC traffic, you need to use utilities such as Lee Swordy's "Traffic Tools". This is a freeware utility available at most major flight sim websites.
