Volpar Turboliner, Plane and Panel Package

Original Plane and Panel by Dana McGee
If you want it to match Shlomo Hakims B18 in size (though I feel his is too large) set the scale at 155/120.

AIRCRAFT INFORMATION
The Turboliner was a modification of the Beech 18 by Volpar Aviation in the late 70's. It was fitted with tricycle landing gear and Garrett turbine engines. The extra power allowed it to carry greater loads at faster speeds for longer distances. It will also get in and out of small runways with a larger payload.
It will pull off a short field at 70 kts and climb at 2,000 fpm to clear obstacles. It also will make a nice steep approach touching down at 500/700 fpm, full reverse and brakes will slow it rapidly. This makes it a pleasant plane for those tight spaces and the tricycle gear makes ground handling very easy.
Stalls are easy as the stall warning will give ample warning and recovery is straight forward, push the wheel forward and regain speed. Trim is very important and constant with power changes.
DO NOT engage autothrottle until you have established your climb or are cruising, as it will not hold full throttle when engaged. It does not react very fast so should be monitored if used for climbs or approaches.
Use reverse gently when taxing as this plane will drop on it's butt and stay there when backing up. Full power with brakes held will pull it back right but be prepared for the repair costs.

THE MODEL
Very limited information was available on this plane when I started, I worked mostly from three pictures of a crashed one. It has been totally rebuilt 5 times since I first started it as it is my first plane model and allot of mistakes were made over the past 4 months. Mike Hill was invaluable in checking out the AFX and test flying it to help me get it right, also the enouragement to fiish it. The fit is very close but I still need practice in painting, I am very pleased with the results. The AFX is included. The fuselage is built as a single unit and painting it was a nightmare, the texture stretches considerably when applied over it.
The airfile has been tested extensively and refined over and over. It tends to be nose light, this is only a problem when backing up into parking space. A lot of work has gone into this aircraft and while you are welcome to change anything you want to via the AFX file, I would ask that appropriate credit always be given to the Designer in the main file. It must remain freeware to all.

No responsibility accepted for any vagaries in your system.

Installation
Unzip the file directly into the Aircraft Directory of your FS98 programme. Unzip the sounds into the FSFSConv directory.

Installation of Panel
The panel has been coupled to the aircraft, but you will need to unzip the GAUGES.ZIP file directly into the FS98/Gauges directory.

Any comments will be appreciated (and answered).
