                          CESSNA 172M SKYHAWK
                          -------------------

Original Aircraft (172p file 172p-01) by AL WHITNEY

98/10/03 Aircraft repainted and modified by Jim Arnold
                                C-GMWF

This aircraft is modeled after the 1974 Cessna 172M Skyhawk. The
original aircraft by Al Whitney was modeled after the Cessna 172P.
Mr. Whitney did a superb job of the flight dynamics and visual
model but I found this model to be too fast for what I wanted.
I needed an accurate representation of the Cessna 172M to help me
in my flight training. I modified the flight dynamics slightly,
added a transparent propeller and repainted the aircraft to
represent one of the aircraft I am using for my real flight
training. This model is painted to match C-GMWF of Pioneer Flight
Training of Prince George, B.C., Canada. This package contains:
Aircraft, panel, gauges, and checklist.

Jim and Al did a great job on this airplane but I made a few adjustments
to the panel bitmap and gauges to add even more realism. (Be sure to
check out the new realistic starter.) Now this C172 is nearly identical
to the one that I fly here in Maryland.

*** Be sure to un-check the magneto control box under aircraft settings.
(The starter that I included controls the magnetos.) You may find
that the aircraft will not start if you have the magneto control box
    checked!!!

* TIP* I would suggest adjusting your control (joystick, keyboard)
settings for aileron, elevator, and throttle sensitivities. Adjust
aileron to to just on the high side of 1/2 way, elevator to 1/2
way and throttle to just on the high side of 1/2 way. I find
these settings more accurately represent the control movement of
WQO. If you don't know where to find these settings go to options
menu, custom controls.

* the panel is best viewed in high res. mode and full screen mode.

*IMPORTANT NOTE* If you click on the mini controls and then off
while in plane the Tach will read correctly. I don't know why but
it works, I read this somewhere.

For your info the following switches on the panel work but don't
really turn anything on/off... 2 master switches (red), dome,
strobe. The beacon turns on beacon and strobes. (landing lights
work at night).

Unzip RAYS_172.zip into tempoary file. Move or copy folders and
files as they are to aircraft directory FS98. Move gauges to
gauges directory FS98.

Thanks to AL WHITNEY for producing the great original plane.
