     Arctic Cessna O-1E Bird Dog

In the late 1940's, the Army began looking for a replacement for the aging Piper L-4
and Stinson L-5. Requirements were for a light, all metal aircraft that could perform a
wide variety of missions from short unprepared strips. Missions that the Army and Air Force
were interested in for this aricraft included reconnaissance, rescue, re-supply, aerial
telephone wire laying, artillery fire control, casualty evacuation, and forward air control.
The Bird Dog could also be operated with floats or skiis.
Thousands of O-1's were produced and used by the Army, Navy, Airforce and Marines.
This particular model is in International Orange used while operating over the Arctic Ice
cap in Alaska. It was also used as a trainer.

     Installation:

Simply unzip the birddog1.zip file in your FS98 aircraft directory. If your zip
program does not support directories, then create a directory called Birddog1
in your aircraft directory. Create the usual subdirectories: model, panel,
sound, texture under the Birddog1 directory. Place the .air and aircraft .cfg
files in the main Birddog1 directory. Place birddog1.mdl and model.cfg files
in your model directory. Panel.cfg goes to the panel directory. Sound.cfg to the sound
directory. All .*af files go to the texture directory.
