FS2004 Consolidated P2Y-2 "Ranger"

The Ranger was one of several flying boats created by Consolidated for the U.S. Navy. The P2Y-2 entered service in 1933. It and it's follow - ons served until 1941 when they were replaced by the famous PBY "Catalina's". The P2Y-2 has those bright pre - war colors that I really enjoy modeling. This project is painted for Squadron VP-15.
This is a FSDSv3 project with the usual animations, landing and nav lights that work with the "L" key or the appropriate panel switches. The aft machine gun hatches open and close with the Shift + E command. The machine guns pop up when the hatches are open. I could not find any data on the panel layout so I used a picture of a very early PBY model as a guide. The VC has moving flight controls and active gauges. The throttle and mixture controls in the 2D panel are from Mike Stone's PBY-5. Please note this model is only for FS2004. Those that don't care can try it in FS.X but you will find the untextured parts turn black and it peaks out at about 70 knots which means it won't get off the water. In FS2004 take off speed is just over 80 knots.

INSTALLATION: Unzip P2Y2.zip into a temporary folder. Copy the folder Consolidated P2Y-2 into the Aircraft folder of FS2004. Open the effects folder and copy the effects file into the Effects folder of FS2004. (The effect is a wake effect that I like more than the defaults) Open the gauges folder and copy the four gauge files into the Gauges folder of FS2004. Note: If you haven't already done so, you must copy the the Douglas_DC-3.cab, Lockheed_Vega.cab, and DeHavilland_Comet.cab files from their respective panel folders into the Gauge folder of FS2004. Just copy the files, DON'T open them!
This plane will show as the P2Y-2 under Consolidated in the aircraft selection list.
