Fix for IRIS Pilatus PC-9 Autopilot
___________________________________

This is an Auto Pilot fix for the
IRIS PC-9 and PC-9A autopilot not working.

According to IRIS Simulations modified
original package files may not be redistributed
before explicit approval of IRIS simulations.

Therefore I will give you only the solution for
fixing the Auto Pilot in the Pilatus PC-9.

Procedure:

0. If you do not have a copy of the IRIS PC-9 installed in your flight sim,
   then install it. I highly recommend it. See link below.
1. Create a backup of your current Aircraft.cfg file in your IRIS PC-9 folder.
   There are two PC-9 folders: IRIS PC-9 and IRIS PC-9A.
2. Open the Aircraft.cfg file in your IRIS PC-9 folder or IRIS PC-9A folder.
   Open it with NotePad.exe or similar program.
3. In the Aircraft.cfg file find the string: [autopilot]
   Tip: use the find function of your editor (CTRL+F for NotePad.exe).
4. Delete all lines from [autopilot] including [autopilot].
   Only delete all lines when there are no other sections below the [autopilot] section.
   A section within the Aircraft.cfg file start and ends with brackets like
   [autopilot], [deice_system], etcetera.
   Now that you have removed the complete [autopilot] section, thus including all entries,
   copy the following replacement text in your Aircraft.cfg file:

[electrical];				// ADDED
max_battery_voltage = 24.0
generator_alternator_voltage = 28.0
max_generator_alternator_amps = 60.0
engine_generator_map= 1,1
avionics_bus	= 0, 5 , 17.0
autopilot	= 0, 5 , 17.0

[autopilot]
autopilot_available=1
flight_director_available=1;		// ORIG: 0
default_vertical_speed=1000.00
autothrottle_available=0
pitch_takeoff_ga=8.0
max_pitch=10.00
max_pitch_acceleration=1.00
max_pitch_velocity_lo_alt=2.0
max_pitch_velocity_hi_alt=1.5
max_pitch_velocity_lo_alt_breakpoint=20000.0
max_pitch_velocity_hi_alt_breakpoint=28000.0
max_bank=25.0
max_bank_acceleration=1.80
max_bank_velocity=3.00
max_throttle_rate=0.10
nav_proportional_control=9.0
nav_integrator_control=0.25
nav_derivative_control=0.0
nav_integrator_boundary=2.50
nav_derivative_boundary=0.00
gs_proportional_control=9.52
gs_integrator_control=0.26
gs_derivative_control=0.00
gs_integrator_boundary=0.70
gs_derivative_boundary=0.00
yaw_damper_gain=0.00

5. Save your Aircraft.cfg file (CTRL+S for NotePad.exe).
6. Do steps 1 through 5 for IRIS PC-9A if you want also
   a working Auto Pilot for the Pilatus PC-9A aircraft.
7. DONE.

Now can use all Auto Pilot functions, except the Auto Throttle function.
IRIS did provide a standard Bendix King Auto Pilot 2D popup panel.
As there is no NAV1-GPS switch you have to assign a key for it in
your Flight simulator if not already there is one, so that also
you can fly GPS flight plans in your Pilatus.

Cockpit Sounds

If you have a folder: \SimObjects\Airplanes\IRIS PC-9A\sound\PC9-AUDIO
than you might hear some Cockpit Sounds by editing the Panel.cfg files:
Add as last entry in section [Vcockpit01]:

gauge22=dsd_p3d_xml_sound_x64!Sound,	1,0,1,0,  .\SimObjects\Airplanes\IRIS PC-9A\sound\PC9-AUDIO\PC9-Sound.ini

or for FSX:

gauge22=dsd_fsx_xml_sound!Sound,	1,0,1,0,  .\SimObjects\Airplanes\IRIS PC-9A\sound\PC9-AUDIO\PC9-Sound.ini

Note that we have four Panel.cfg files for our package.

Happy flights.

A copy of the nice IRIS PC-9 aircraft for FSX and completely working in P3Dv4.5+
